How to get to the university?

Most of the activities will take place in the “Haus Recht und Wirtschaft I” (ReWi), Jakob-Welder-Weg 9, and the “Philosophicum”, Jakob-Welder-Weg 18. A detailed map you will find here:

Map of Campus

The Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz may be reached easily via car, train and plane. It is approached by many public bus lines and has several stops, because the university campus is large. Within the city there is public transport – bus and tram – with which you can reach almost all destinations within Mainz and Wiesbaden.

The easiest way to get to the campus of the Johannes Gutenberg-University is to alight at the Mainz main station and then take one of the following tram or bus lines:

Exit at the stop „Universität“:
(From here you get quickly to the ReWi (conference office))

  • 51 (towards Lerchenberg)
  • 53 (towards Lerchenberg)
  • 57 (towards Bretzenheim)
  • 75 (towards Schwabenheim / Ingelheim)

Exit at the stop „Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg“:
(From here you get quickly to the Philosophicum)

  • 51 (towards Lerchenberg)
  • 53 (towards Lerchenberg)
  • 54 (towards Klein-Winternheim)
  • 55 (towards Finthen)
  • 56 (towards Finthen / Wackernheim)
  • 650 (towards Sprendlingen)

We would recommend using the tram lines 51 and 53 towards Lerchenberg, all of which stop directly at the main entrance to the university as well at the Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg.

Further information about how to get to the campus are available here on the pages of the Johannes Gutenberg University.

Conference Ticket

All participants will receive a ticket for public transport with their conference documents. This ticket will enable you to travel on busses and trams of the MVG and the ESWE within Mainz and Wiesbaden (fare zone 65) from Sunday to Friday.

Due to limited parking lot capacities it is strongly advised to use public transportation during the conference week.

Please take your ticket with you whenever using public transport!

Note: Students of the University Mainz will not receive a conference ticket.
